Republic Day was celebrated with much fervour and enthusiasm in Prateek Fedora society. This was also the first event after the new PFAWA board took charge just a few days back. Time for preparations was short but the new team managed to pull off a great event that involved everyone. The programme started with the unfurling of the National Flag by Champa Devi, a resident of the society and the mother of Kargil War martyr Major Amar Shaheed Surendra Pal Yadav. Next was the Saraswati Vandana recital by Parul Sharma who captivated the audience with her melodious voice. The children of the society presented many dance performances on the theme of the day. Another dance performance was presented by Dimple. The organisers also held an art competition for the children of the society. Many children took part in the competition and showcased their talent. The results for the competition were announced by Rekha Nigam and Krishna Batra. All this enthusiasm and excitement made the residents hungry and they were not disappointed as a sumptuous lunch had been organised for them. The programme was a success and the residents applauded the efforts of the new management committee in putting together a stellar performance.
