Republic day, the day symbolic of independent India’s first constitution coming into effect, is a matter of great pride for every citizen of our country. Not only does it instill a sense of patriotism among the people, but also reminds us of the struggles and sacrifices of the people who laid their lives for our better future.
The Republic Day celebrations at Royal Towers was a tribute to all such people. This year Republic Day and Vasant Panchmi fell on the same day and hence were celebrated together in our society. All the ladies were dressed in yellow sarees owing to the Vasant Panchmi festival. The National flag was unfurled at 9:30 am. V.K. Dassani addressed the gathered residents. Up next were the ladies of the society who sang the song “Mera Rang de basanti chola”. The ever so energetic children of our society – Ishmit, Aylin, Paavi, Shivansh, recited poems on the theme of Republic Day. Arti recited a poem on Vasant Panchmi. R.C. Das and P.K. Bandriya dazzled the gathered residents with their respective performances. V.K. Dassani and his sister also sang some beautiful songs. Next up, Jai Goel enthralled everybody with his sher o shayari. Dr Anusuya Singh recited the poem “Parvat Kehta Sheesh Uthakar” which is a work of Sohan Lal Dwivedi. Ishu Srivastava gave a thoughtful speech on Patriotism. Lastly, V.K. Dassani gave the vote of thanks and snacks were distributed to the gathered residents.
