Meet the Champions ~ Sports Fest 2022

Panchshila Montessori School organized their Sports Fest 2022 ‘Meet the Champions ’ on Saturday, 26th of November 22.The Principal Ms. Sujata Sundaresan welcomed the distinguished guests Mr Jasjit Sngh , Vice President , Hony Secretary,  Mr. Anil Narayan , Ms. Ragini Mathur, Ms. Sharmila Sood Members of the management Committee of Panch Shila Co-operative House Building Society. The Guests of Honors included Ms. Geeta Dudeja , Former Head Mistress of Modern School, Humayun Road and Ms. Tara Sekhri , former teacher at Welhams School Dehradun, Parents and Grandparents .

The Sports Fest “Meet the Champions” was kick started with the Torchbearer run by the students symbolizing the light of spirit, knowledge and life.

Children performed a Dance Drill to foot tapping music choreographed by the teachers. The first race by the students –We are the Champions was a tribute to the hockey maestro Dhyan Chand, in whose honor this year’s National Sports Day was celebrated in August. Maj Dhyan Chand, an Indian field hockey player was considered to be one of the greatest players of all time. He is most remembered for his goal-scoring feats and for his three Olympic gold medals.

So the sports champions of the school ran with their hockey sticks and hit the ball into the goal post. The Play group children participated in the races

Match my shape – Children ran with colour coded shapes and matched the correct shape at the finishing line.

Blooming Flowers– This race was based on their on-going theme of Plants. The children were introduced to the parts of a plant namely flower, leaf, stem and roots. Children ran with flowers in their hand to put them in a pot at the finishing line.

The children of the Pre- Nursery class performed the races –

Match my Sound – The little phonic experts ran to match the pictures to its phonic sound . Children are first taught to recognize the sounds of individual letters, which helps to blend these sounds together to form full words.

Plant Jigsaw– The Montessori Culture provides children with an opportunity to explore the larger world. Children learn the names for each part of the plant. The little Botanist ran to put together a puzzle of the different part of a plant.

With the support of Golf Revolution the children of Panch Shila Montessori School have the opportunity to play some physical sports like volleyball, baseball, ladder hopping, golf etc. .

Their unique Toddler Programme trains toddlers on golf swings using multiple sports activities and making it fun. Children showed their ability to Chip the ball which they had learnt during the Sports sessions with Golf Revolution.

Every Race was planned with great detail integrating all aspects of development. Every child was a champion and was awarded with a medal and a participation certificate by the Hony. Vice President and Secretary of the Panch Shila Co-operative House Building Society. The School also organized Fun races for the siblings, parents and grandparents of the students.
