As the date for MCD elections was approaching the election campaign was heating up. All the candidates from different parties were approaching the RWA’s to hold meetings with them. Almost all the blocks from A1 to B-7 called the candidates of BJP and AAP on different dates to listen to their views on the vision they have for the society and the works they will do for improving the condition of their respective wards. BJP’s candidate for MCD was Manoj Gard and AAP’s candidate was Sarita Phogat. Many drawing room meetings were organised by RWA’s and many meetings were kept in the colony parks where the candiadtes reached on time with a lot of fan fare.
B4 block organised a meeting- Know your candidate ‘ in their park where all the three candidates from BJP, AAP and Cong were invited on the same day. It was a wonderful programme as people got to know and see all the three candidates which really helped them in making a wise choice. All the three parties behaved very well and there was no ill will or shouting and the meeting went off peacefully. Using the same platform for all at the same time is advantageous as the true character of a candidate can be judged by the voters if they meet them all at the same time and make comparisons.
By the time this issue reaches you the results would have been declared and we really hope that the right person becomes the councillor and brings in a lot of much needed changes.
