SLRWA’s Slog about the Sushant Lok C-Block Security

From the time immemorial the residents of Sushant Lok I, C block are crying thief, but nothing much could be done to save them from it perhaps because of the size of the block and presence of many entry and exit points existing in the colony at present. The SLRWA had been slogging to find a solution for the residents ever since it is elected, so after a lot of hard work on all fronts they have formed a proposal to upkeep the security of the block in some way or the other.

1: The security committee has decided to demarcate the C block into four major pockets: Pocket A- area West of Rajpath, Pocket B- area enclosed between East of Rajpath and VK road, Pocket C- area East of VK road and Pocket D-area on East of VK road enclosed between the back of Peach Tree market and Mehendi Park lane.

2: Security measures which need to be established in a phased manner are as under-

  1. Phase I: Establishing the boundary of the pocket B.
  2. Phase II:
  3. Security of Pocket A, C and D establishment of gates and barriers and boundaries.
  4. Police authorities have to be involved at each stage.
  5. All actions have to be done after consultation with the lawyer.

3: Security measures map is provided in which interior gate plans are tabulated for pocket B. (in all, 11 gates)

4: Financial implications and additional measures.

Security committees will be formed for each pocket. Each member of this pocket committee must be a resident; who must be staying in that pocket and in turn will report the happenings of the surrounding with photos or unusual happenings in the pocket.

5: The security arrangements of C block is the need of the hour, the residents face myriad problems day in and day out, to find them some solace, this proposition should manifest successfully and with the help of the residents SLRWA will go a long way! In the words of great Helen Keller,” Alone we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” Sushant Lok’s good days seem to be on the horizon…

The SLRWA is also pushing govt. machinery to have the Community Centre cleaned and workable as it was once before reaching to the present state. The committee met the MCG Joint Commissioner on 30th of November to fix various issues of Sushant lok in general and is hopeful that something will be done. They are moving mountains and devoting their precious time to do their bit for the block and it is our duty to help them create the Sushant Lok of our dreams!
