Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurpurab is celebrated with much fervor and joy throughout the country and different parts of the world on the full moon day of Kartik month. It marks the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev ji, the first of the ten gurus of the Sikhs. This year, 8th November marked the 553rd birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
The RWA of DLF phase 2 , organized the Gurpurab celebration in the community center of DLF phase 2 on 13th November’22. The H block Gurudwara committee also participated in the celebration with their sewadars and the Head Granthi.
The program began with the recitation of Sukhmani sahib paath by the congregation, followed by Shabad Kirtan by two famous groups of Delhi. The hymns and verses in the praise of the Guru were recited religiously by all the Sangat. The peace and diviness was felt in the entire place.
After the shabad kirtan, Rehraas Sahib paath was done by Vishal Bajaj, followed by Ardaas by the Head Granthi of the Gurudwara Sahib. Guru ka langar prepared with utmost respect was served to everyone. The residents and devotees eagerly participated in langar sewa, joda sewa and cleanliness sewa on the day.
Truly, the serenity of the celebration remained in the hearts and mind for many days.
