Imperial Residents Meet FHG To Discuss Improvements

by V.K. Aggarwal (Imperial T-1)

In a meeting of the Wishtown residents and the Jaypee management, it was decided that the officials of FMG will hold monthly meeting with the residents of various towers to discuss issues of concern to the residents.

The 2nd meeting of the Imperial residents with FMG was held on Saturday, 5th November. Col Gadhoke and his maintenance / security team interacted with the residents for about 2 hours. Brief summary of major points discussed with the FMG team are as follows:

Leakage in the Basements: the residents highlighted that excessive leakage was observed in the basements during the rains. Col Gadhoke mentioned that this problem is due to the expansion Joints and the Jaypee management has directed that expansion joints in all towers of Wishtown should be repaired. The work has already been awarded and it should be completed by March 2023.

The residents further highlighted the frequent failures in the plumbing shafts. It was pointed out that almost all the PRVs are not functional and this results in excessive pressure build up on lower floors and leading to failure of joints. Mr Mukesh Malkoti informed that they have started the work of anchoring the pipes in the plumbing shafts and will also try to rectify the problem of PRVs. This work has also started but because of large number of shafts, it would take some time to complete the job. The residents were assured that this should be over by March 2023.

A major security lapse was brought to the notice of Col Ghadoke. The workers and delivery agents visiting any tower can take the lift to one of the basement floors and gain entry to another tower through the basement floor lift in another tower since the basement of all Imperial towers is connected. He was requested to post guards in the lift lobby of the basement floors who should check unauthorised entry of any person trying to move to another tower. The security supervisor was also called to get feedback about this lapse.

The residents pointed out the poor upkeep of the Imperial Arcade and the corridors / open spaces being occupied by the shop owners. This gives a shabby look to the arcade. Col Gadhoke instructed Mr Badri to instruct the housekeeping staff to ensure regular cleaning of all spaces within and outside the arcade and to instruct the shop owners to desist from unauthorised use of common spaces. The members thanked Col Gadhoke and his team for their positive response and hope that all the issues discussed in this meeting would be resolved within the time frame assured by the FMG team.
