Children Showcase Their Talent At The Gulmohar Centre

by D Ranganathan

Child like wonder, imagination running free, small hands gliding along paper with colours as dance partners. Children’s Day Celebrations began this way on the front lawn at the Gulmohar Centre, bathed in soft sunshine.

Over two days, we experienced great talent, with budding artists giving expression to their creativity through colours on the themes provided, with a range of skills in vocal and instrumental music, through flowing movement in dance and imaginative portrayal of renowned figures in fancy dress.

Children as young as three years of age showcased their talent, to the applause of family, friends and admirers who thronged the venues. The creative works of our young artists were on display. They were a riot of colors and imagination and appreciated by one and all.

The second day of the celebrations came to a close with a brief and thought provoking performance dedicated to Children’s Day from Varun Kapoor and his group of trainees who train at the Centre.

A fete with fun and games for and by children added to the festive feel. On the 14th, Children’s Day, prizes were given to the winners in a packed hall, with the sound of applause and the wide smiles of the winners creating moments and memories that will surely linger for some time.

Nirupama Verma, Convenor Events at the Gulmohar Centre, said that many more events are on the anvil, and was sure that the response to each one will be as enthusiastic and well attended.
