75th Republic Day

W1 Park was full of  tri-coloured flags and  flowers to celebrate the 75th Republic Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. As usual, it was a windy cold morning, so WECA installed a heater to minimise the effect of the cold.

A large number of ladies, gents and kids were there to celebrate their national festival.

Mr. Inderjeet Sawhney unfurled the flag at 10.30 am and after thatthe melodious notes of our National Anthem filled the air.

Wellington residents welcomed the guests with the soulful voice of Mrs. Saraswati Nath’s Vande Mataram.

As Ram Lahar was still going on,  she also sang Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram. This was followed by  Mrs.Lata Sundar rendering ’Saare Jahan se achcha Hindustan hamara.

The stage was soon taken over by kids. Even 4-year-old kids participated, and Aaradhya of 2C sang a song like a passionate singer. Everybody appreciated her.

Kritika Dev, Savi of 1B and Avni Mittal danced in tricolour attire. Some children gave short speeches in English, while on the other hand, Aarav and his friend spoke in Hindi. Aditya strummed his guitar and sang a song. A housekeeper also sang a song in Bengali.
