We are so happy to share with the readers that a children’s library, small now but soon to grow, has been set up next door where anyone can come and take a book to read from a variety of titles on display. A unique concept on the boundary wall of The Forest Spa, Sector 93B, it is housed in a big shelved cupboard attached to the wall. It is open all the 7 days of the week and always open (never locked!). The initiative is by some residents of The Forest Spa who want that children who love reading should have free access to books. This will develop and keep alive the reading habit.
The board displays what is expected of a child who wishes to read a book. They can sit here and read the books or can take home the book by entering the name/book title/date/time in the register kept there. On returning the book, they will tick mark in the given column. Started a few months back, it encourages children who cannot afford to buy books to take books from here and return them to take the next books. It is heartening to see many such students are taking benefit of this facility.
More details on this concept, not heard in any other sector of Noida or anywhere else, we will carry in the coming months.
