In conversation with Akhauri Sinha, president of The Forest Spa Apartment Owners Association (TFSA), we wanted to know his vision and plans steering the welfare committee into 2023. As vice-president in the earlier term, he is well aware and fully involved in the development work of the society. “We have defined challenges and requirements that we will pursue in a systematic manner,” he said, “Registration of apartments has not been done; this is our priority.
“Builders left things in half-cooked stage; our aim is to complete those jobs in a manner to go with the ambience of the society. Much-needed facelift of the society – the entrance area, facade, repainting of the exterior – and with this water bodies with fountains will uplift the appearance of our complex. Soon the basement parking space will be upgraded several notches high with proper illumination, signage and painting.
“For safe and secure living inside the complex, our security staff has regular training. They are made aware of their sense of duty to be proactive for the safety of the complex.
“We propose to have a Health Centre inside the society that will have different medical specialist visiting on certain fixed days. With health services within the complex, residents will have easy access to medical services.
“Our Cultural Committee is active and vibrant; many cultural and social events will be organized for residents to meet and interact, and even express their talents. Residents are environment conscious. The trees that they planted a few years ago, in the adjoining green belt, are now grown up; this has added more greenery to our otherwise greenery around.
“It is inspiring to see our residents contributing to the community cause. One Shanti Agarwal is running a school in the Biodiversity Park, across our society, for the children of the park workers and those coming from nearby villages. This has motivated fellow residents to come forward and volunteer to help Mr Agarwal. The park nearby inspires us to do whatever little for the social cause.
“Once in the Biodiversity Park, I got into trying a shot in cricket with some children playing there. Here I realized that the kids did not have a proper bat or even shoes; so arranged cricket set, shoes and backpacks for them. Last month, beginning of winter chill, provided jackets, cardigans, inner thermal wear, blankets, socks etc. It was heartening to see society residents pitching in for the welfare activity.”
