Social welfare minister Saurabh Bharadwaj visited the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Memorial Old Age Home in Wazirpur on the International Day for Senior Citizens, where he interacted with the elderly residents about their health and the facilities provided. He cut a cake and spent time with the residents.
“Many elderly people live here — some are very old and bedridden, while others are in good health. We spoke with the residents, and all of them expressed satisfaction with the facilities at the centre. Adequate medical care is provided to the sick, nutritious food is served on time, and all other services are of the highest quality,” said Bharadwaj.
The senior citizen’s forum, GK 2, organised an event on the same day at the Balwant Rai Mehta School, where Saurabh Bhardwaj thanked the senior citizens profusely, for their contribution to society. Rajasthani folk songs and dances were performed by a troupe from Jodhpur. Ghoomte, Cheri, Kalbelia, Banjara Banjaran, and Taali with rhythm by all musicians, especially Khartaal.
