Indeed, Pride Moments for us while thanking all those, particularly those who stood by us during the Covid Pandemic, and helped us reach our 15th Anniversary and celebrate in the ISIC Auditorium, last month.
It was exclusively for expressing our profound gratitude to all those who helped us achieve our goals in the service of our Society – Be it the DDA, Delhi Police, RBI-EOW, our Neighbouring hospitals, Ayush Ministry-Yoga, besides full cooperation from our political Representatives, irrespective of their varying politics.
The great event started with lighting of Lamp, in the benign presence of our Chief Guest, Bholi Ahluwalia, Chairperson, wife of late Major HPS Ahluwalia, Hero of 1965 War, the Everest Achiever – the Founder of the Indian Spinal Injuries Center-Vasant Kunj.
Welcoming Guests with lovely Flute singing by our well known Shiv Dixit and with a lovely dance performance of the little girls, trained by Beti Foundation, initiating the wonderful Event.
And then came in our Saranjit Singh for honouring our Chief Guest with a beautiful Saropa besides offering a wonderful tribute to Major HPS Ahluwalia. On our special request, Mrs Ahluwalia came forward and encouraged us by highly motivating words appreciating the efforts of the Citizens Forum.
Then followed the proud privilege of welcoming more guests on stage and honouring them for their presence. Starting with Arya Ravi Dev Gupta, President of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation, who is a great motivator had inspired us to hold over hundred Havans in every sector-pocket, towards helping build a grand Arya Samaj Bhavan in Vasant kunj.
Next, Dr Sheetal Kishanpuria, Gold Medalist, known for hundreds of successful eye cataract operations from the Sharp Sight Hospitals, followed, by the pride of our Vasant Kunj, ex-DCP, LN Rao, known for dozens of Police Medals, and now helping our Citizens as Supreme Court Advocate.
And, then landed from Ranchi our most well-known Guest, Dr Kameshwar Prasad, Director-AIIMS, better known to each and every home in Vasant Kunj, as the Chief of AIIMS- Head of Nuro-Sciences, under whose leadership their Cohort Studies was conducted helping each and every senior citizen in Vasant Kunj.
Next, Sarv Priya Singh, ILBS-Vasant Kunj, Chief of Bio-Medical, and last but not the least, our own Yoga Guru Dr Pooran Chand, now fully involved with the Sukoon Mental Heallth Care and Fortis Hospital.
Yes, we missed Dr Viveka Kumar from Max and from Fortis- Yash Rawat, besides Rtn Arun Roongta, Asstt Governer Rotary-3011. We also missed the Delhi Police Guests Sanjeev Mandal and SHO- EOW due to certain emergency. Their help during Covid and in Cyber Crimes shall always be remembered.
It was time to express our gratitude to various specialists from Max, Medanta, Fortis and the Spinal Hospital, who had guided us, regularly, almost every week on ZOOM to escape the Covid catastrophe.
And, now, the event was carried forward with the most melodious music by Mahesh Talwar and his brothers Suresh and Naresh, besides the team of their Musical Group including Lekha Ji, anchored by VB Sharma, whom we now call our Mirza Galib, who handled the stage with his lovely Shayari, making the Evening so special, and so enjoyable that none of us shall ever forget! Vote of Thanks by DR Vermani to each and everyone present for the wonderful time spent with us and also thanked all those who sponsored the event, including Rotary Asstt Governor, Arun Roongta, MAX Hospial, Surinder Sethi and above all, Sharp Sight Hospitals for their financial and material help in arranging Jute Bags/Free Check-up Coupons and the Trophies for distribution amongst the Guests.
Before closing, guests from Deh Daan Samiti who joined us were highly applauded for helping bring awareness on Organ Donations.
The program ended with the national anthem and with prayers for Citizens Forum that they be blessed to continue to achieve better heights. An excellent and a highly Memorable Anniversary Celebration, indeed!
