Holi Utsav Celebrated At Saket Dham

Holi Utsav was celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement at the central park of Saket Dham Society. On 7th March, Holika Dahan was organised by assembling a heap of dry wood logs at the central place of society premises. During the day, ladies performed their individual poojas and offerings around it. In the evening, the holy fire was lit after a group pooja ceremony and chanting of mantras by Pandit ji. Residents took parikarma of the Holy fire and offered prayers as a tradition. Residents greeted each other ‘Happy Holi’ with Gulal ka tika. Variety of Snacks like Gol Gappe, Aaloo Tikki, Pav Bhaji, Chilla and Kaanji etc. were served. Green Wheat buds and green grams (chholia) were also roasted in the holy fire as a symbol of change of season.

On 8th March, Holi theme songs were played on the audio system to set the tone and ambience and to welcome the residents for joining the celebrations. The residents assembled in no time at the venue to participate in the festivities. They celebrated by smearing multi-coloured Gulals & hugging and wishing each other. The entire environment all-around was full of Mauj and Masti. Residents danced to the popular Holi Tunes and Punjabi songs adding thrill to the celebrations. Ladies and children looked enthusiastic and danced in the scorching sun lending greater charm to the colourful occasion. The festivities concluded with a serving of tempting and finger licking lunch.
