Hanuman Janmotsav falls on the full moon day of Shukla Paksha of Charitra month, exactly one week after Ramnavami. This year the festival was celebrated on 23rd of April. The Mahavirji Temple celebrates this festival, each year, with gusto. This year too the Hanuman mandir was decorated with flowers and the deity wore a new set of clothes. Sundar kaand paath was recited melodiously from 4.30 to 6.30 pm. Thereafter, bhajans were sung by a professional singer and Shri Dinesh Agarwal, who organised the celebrations. A large number of devotees danced merrily to the bhajans. The finale was aarti and a sumptuous spread of bhandara. Prasad of sweets n fruits was distributed by the priests. Ladoos were distributed by Mrs Agarwal as return favours. The Mahavirji Temple sees a large turnout for bhandara on such occasions.
